What are the terms of the scholarship?
Scholarships of $3,500 each are awarded to full-time mortuary science students.
Partial scholarships of $500 are awarded to part-time mortuary science students.
Checks will be made out to the recipient’s school. Applications and all required
materials must be received by January 31, 2016.
What are the eligibility requirements for the scholarship?
Eligible recipients must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident of the United
States, have a high school diploma or GED and be currently enrolled in a mortuary
science program, or be a graduating high school senior who intends to enroll in a
mortuary science program.
Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours or 18 quarter hours in a program of
mortuary science education in an institution accredited with the ABFSE for the semester
for which the scholarship will be applied. They must have a minimum cumulative GPA of
2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Applicants must submit an application, college transcripts (or high school transcripts
if applicable), letters of recommendation and essay to Newcomer Funeral Service Group
by January 31, 2016.

When will the scholarship finalists be announced?
Scholarship finalists can be expected to be notified in March.
All applicants will receive a letter notifying them of their application’s status.
